There are no third-party ads (which we regard as "on-page-spam") and no redirections or background spy-javascript on any page of our sites.
We have our own email server, manage our own DNS, install and configure our dedicated servers and write-from-scratch our entire system (so we have complete control of every square inch and line of pages and emails).
Users are only compeled to supply an email address to sign-up.
We implement SSL on all pages and sites.
We do not share or sell data to anyone.

Email

We implement SPF, DKIM, encryption and mailing-list title and unsubscribe headers in outgoing emails. The envelope-return-address and from-address are from digitalfire.com.
We send out monthly email tech-tips to members who have opted-in during the registration process.
Our member-management console enables manually setting subscription on/off, but also flagging (and dating) people who have reported us for spamming, whose email upstreams have denied access, who had full mailboxes and invalid email addresses.
Bounce-backs are managed manually on arrival according to the nature of the message.
Our dispatching system is sensitive to the flags for that person and email address.
Adjustments were made during fall 2017 and early 2018.
- We contracted a specialist to craft our emails to make sure the DKIM, SPF, DNS, unsubscribe headers and encrption were all working correctly.
- We switched from an on-line SMTP provider (sendgrid.com) to our own email server.
- We switched from rapid-fire-sendout to once-every-three-minutes dispatching.
- We discontinued automation of all aspects of managing bounce-backs.
- We changed from a single registration-confirmation/subscription-opt-in (which clearly told users that by signing up they were opting in) to separate confirmation emails. The registration email enables them to login the first time, the subscription confirmation enables them to confirm subscribe.

How to convert a dipping glaze to a brushing glaze

I have a jar of testing clear glaze that I mixed myself (10% yellow stain and 2% zircopax added to cone 03 G2931K clear). Commercial glaze producers make their lines of glazes like this. The cost of the dry materials: About $6. How can I convert it to a paintable glaze like the commercial ones? I made a spreadsheet where I can specify the weight of the plastic jar, the percentage of CMC gum powder needed and the concentration of the gum solution. I just need to weigh the jar of glaze (without lid), weigh a teaspoon of the liquid glaze (lower left), dry it (upper right) and weigh the dry (lower right). After filling in these numbers the sheet tells me what weight to evaporate the jar to and how much gum solution to mix in. It paints on just like a commercial glaze. But don't do this. I made another spreadsheet online (link below) based on starting from dry ingredients, adding the correct amount of water and gum solution. Of course, you need a good mixer to do this.
