Hawthorne Fireclay #35
Code #
L2950
Location
BD 810

This burns straw color cone 6 to 10 with fine specks. Higher temperature fired bars have light tan solubles on the surface.
Has about the same degree of fired maturity across the entire cone 6-11 range! By cone 10 it is a little less mature than a typical rustic stoneware .
Plasticity is fairly low.

Cedar Heights Goldart clay
Code #
L3320
Location
BD1079
Notes
Dewaters fairly quickly, it feels a little like Plainsman 3B , an illitic clay. Plasticity is about the same as a pottery body or a little lower.
It is a light grey in the wet state.
Dry strength is not great.
Fired bars are similar to Plainsman H550 , a cone 10 stoneware; this is a little more vitreous and little more tan colored.
